The ultimate reactive dog support program

Untitled design (1).jpg

Have you started to only walking your dog before sunrise and after sunset? Maybe you have stoped walking your dog alltogether because the thought of heading out the front door, and the stress that will follow brings you out in  a hot sweat.

Currently you feel lost, embarrassed and resent your dog.

What should be a simple task, is a nightmare of epic proportions.

You have tried different equipment, different training techniques you have taken advise from videos on Youtube or programs off the telly. But to no avail. Your more frustrated than ever and your dogs reactive episodes are worse than before!

Is your dog just being naughty?

No! This is a common misconception that the dog is simply being naughty. We often find that reactivity stems from fear. Reactivity can be caused by undiagnosed pain, Fear, Anxiety, Stress build up, bad experiences, general emotional imbalance, plus more besides.

Dogs will try to avoid conflict where possible as it takes up a lot of their resources. Reactivity is driven by an automatic response in the body to survive. Your dog has no control over it. He defiantly is not doing it on purpose.

Traditional approaches to dealing with reactive behaviour don't work!

Traditionaly behaviour and training approach to reactive behavior in dogs involved many varients of punishment and lead corrections. Their were and still are those who believe that exposure to the stimulus and getting the dog to 'cope' is the way to treat a reactive dog.

Let me ask you something. If you had a social fear of entering a room full of people and I told you that the best way to get over your fear was to attend a gala ball. how would you respond? If despite your reservations and anxiety I dragged you into that situation, regardless of how paniced you were, would this help you to get over your fear? I'm thinking not.

Emotions play a big part in reactive behavior, it is important that we consider this when constructing a behavior modification and training program for our reactive dogs.

Traditonal oproches also focus fully on the dog, whilst the dog is important, success often fails because the owner is overwhelmed or does not have the ongoing support they need throughout the dogs rehabilitation. So what works?

You need...

  • Immediate stress relief in the form of management protocols and safety.

  • understanding - be able to read your dogs body language and undrstand all the elements that affect his behaviour such as trigger stacking and thresholds.

  • Establish what walking equipment will be best for your dog from an ethical perspective and a safety one too.

  • know how to plan walks so you can have successful trips with your dog.

  • Recovery protocols to help your dog decompress quickly if he does react

  • Emergency strategeis, how to handle the other off lead dog.

  • A tilored program that address you dogs individual behvaioural needs.

Your in luck!

I Have created a very special program to help dog reactive dogs. It covers the things listed above plus much more.
